Scooter Trend Starts in Mt. Washington
by Mountain Girl ~ June 18th, 2008. Filed under: Business, Development, Transportation.
It looks as if city living and scooter riding are both on the rise due to gas prices that continue to inch up. This could bode well for city neighborhoods and new scooter dealers like Scott Wroblewski who is opening up shop in our neighborhood in the coming weeks. Tribune-Review reporter, Eric Heyl, talked to Scott about why he (an aerospace engineer by trade) is going into the scooter business.
If you’re in the market for a scooter, please patronize a local business owner. And if you’re scoffing at the idea of trading in your Forerunner for a scooter, chew on this: For between $1500-$3000 (including safety gear and insurance), you can get around town on a vehicle that gets 100 miles to the gallon and can go for four days on $8 worth of gas, saving you about $70 week. So in a year, it will have paid for itself.
Aside from that, you’d look really cute in pink.

Lincoln once said:
“Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man’s character, give him power.”
I think it’s clear he meant the 150cc’s of hard core Vespa power under your tush!

Hello to All,
My name is Ryan and I am resident of 15211. I recently began working with Scott at Mt. Washington Scooters. I have over ten years expierence in mechanical repair and service. 2 years of that in the scooter industry specifically. I look forward assisting my neighbors and others residents of Pittsburgh. Aside from the savings that come with owning a scooter, there are the enviromental savings with lower emissions and easy operation. No clutch handle to worry about. No tranmission lever to learn, just twist and go. All this and with the low and easy maintance coupled with high quality it makes these scooters suitable for almost anyone. Why suffer the summer heat in your gas guzzling SUV, when you cruise Grandview, taking in the Pittsburgh skyline with the wind in your face. Enjoy the bustling South Side and East Carson St. for pennies in gas and no more problems finding parking places. Please stop in and lets us answer any and all of your scooter questions. And Bobby and Livin’ please don’t worry about your manliness. With todays options and after market support, we can make your subtle lil gas saver into a roaring rocket. We have access to everything from trunks to chrome wheels. Thanks to all and we hope to see you real soon.

What brands/manufactures do you carry?

I remember a certain police officer who lived in the West Mifflin area but who rode a scooter to work in the east end of Pittsburgh. That was in the early 1980’s before the energy crisis. I’ve looked into a “moped” to climb the hills of the Mount yet keep in shape by riding the bicycle portion of that vehicle. I hope to purchase one at or near the end of season.
Stay ahead of the pack!
