MWCDC finally supports Virginia Ave. LNC Zoning Upgrade

In a seemingly monumental move at last night’s MWCDC meeting, the board actually voted on the zoning changes for Virginia Ave. The vote was unanimouse with just 3 board members abstaining from the vote. Kudos to whomever brought this to vote. It is way too important an issue for the CDC not to take a position.

This comes to no surprise to use here at 15211 because the CDC seems to stick with what the popular opinion is, as they should. I think it was obvious what the public opinion was after the efforts of the MWREDO and the turnout at the last Map Pittsburgh meetings in which huge support came out for the rezoning of Virginia Ave.

The Planning Commission meeting is April 22nd. Now there will be representatives of both organizations supporting this move. Hopefully now we will finally see some improvements to the Virginia Ave. business corridor. Congratulations to all involved in this long and tedious process.
