Does anyone know of anyone on The Mount who likes to tinker with computers? I have a brand new computer on the second floor. . . and my son has one on the third floor with a router attached to the modem. Unfortunately, no internet service on the second floor, despite the fact that this should give us wireless service throughout the house.
Anyone out there who'd like to troubleshoot and make repairs/suggestions for a small fee?
Thank you!

Yes, thank you, Mountain Girl, I've already spoken to them. I was just putting out a few more feelers.
Thanks again for the tip.

Hi SSB,
There are a few things that can be wrong. First, I don't think it is the computer per se. The problem can be in the Internet Properties which my not be set-up for the wireless router. That can be fixed by opening up Internet Explorer and going into tools and into the properties. The second can be interference with the wireless router [I doubt it] but it is possible. The easiest way to addesses this problem is just what COnrad said — call your Internet provider. They can walk you through each variable to resolve the problem. The bonus there it won't cost you anything — you're already paying for their service so let their IT department help you set it up.
I hope this doesn't sound pedantic — I try to explain things as simply as possible.
