For a year, my daughter has been renting in Mt. Washington as she attends school in Pittsburgh. We finally decided to buy a house rather than continue paying rent for her.
During the search, I mentioned Mt. Washington as a nice place to live to a business associate who was preparing to move to the Pittsburgh area. I was happily surprised to discover that he was applying for the position of Exicutive Director of the Mt. Washington Community Development Center.
After I discovered this Blog, i passed the information on to him only to discover that he already knoew of it and was using unformation gleaned from it during his own job investigation and interview process. I was not surprised when I later learned that he had won the position - he is an intelligent, conciencious, hands-on guy.
I hope that all of you will soon have a chance to meet and work with Chris Beichner, who started work today, the last day of March, 2008. (Which is better than starting tomorrow, April Fools Day, I suppose!)
