There was just a small german shepard mix with a blue collar and a little white fluffy dog with a red collar running around on Kathleen @ 10a.m.

I tried to lure them over to me with some milk bones, but when the shepard got close enough she snapped at me, so I wasn't able to get a look at her tag. Then she took off with the bone. The white one wouldn't even come near me.

I've seen both of these dogs running around (without the other) a few times before.

*I'm almost positive this is the same shepard mix that was at the pound over the weekend while I was calling around looking for my own dog , Steven, when he escaped over the weekend. She fits the description they gave me.

If anyone knows who owns these dogs, just let them know they get out quite often, and they tend to run around right in the middle of street without any fear….so they may want to try and invest in a better strategy to see to it that the dogs don't escape so easily, especially since they aren't friendly enough to catch.

I have seen those same dogs running at large on Kathleen street on a regular basis for the past few years. They are lucky that they haven't been killed by the cars that whiz past them. While I realize that dogs can (and do) escape, this is getting ridiculous…

I have no idea who owns them as I've never seen any people out looking for them. I know I'd be upset if my dog escaped and was running around the neighborhood…

I know those exact dogs …. they live right up in the Laclede/Kathleen/Haberman area…

They've been running loose for years?!

I imagine it would be cheaper to put up a new fence, or buy some leashes, then pay the $50+ to pick them up from the pound if they were turned in every time…geesh.

I've actually heard from a neighbor of these dogs that she has seen the guy who lives next door to them go up to their house and just open the door and let them run out. So obviously the owners don't care.

Well that's a darn shame. I can't even imagine….my husband and I both cried our eyes out the whole 24 hours Steve was missing!

My husband and I moved back to Pittsburgh about 7 years ago and I've seen those two dogs running at large pretty much since we've been living here. There almost always a sure bet on Friday mornings sniffing around the trash bags…

I would strongly consider calling a shelter or animal services about this and have the dogs removed from the house and put up for adoption. No reason to have them running around the neighborhood if the owners don't care enough to take proper care of them. Not knowing if they have vaccinations etc poses a risk to everyone around, and sooner or later they will end up getting killed by a car if they're running free.
