McArdle Road Pothole

NOTICE: There is a huge, deep pothole on McArdle Road (going toward Liberty Bridge, about halfway down). Today I was behind a car that blew out a tire when it hit the pothole. It is very deeeep and every car that hits this thing will blow a tire. BEWARE.
So I called the Mayor’s infamous “311″ today and will call again tomorrow and every couple of hours until they (the city) gets up here to fix this thing. Please do the same if you get a chance.
Also, we had such an overwhelming response to our “subscription” service we have decided to go with a professional 3rd party service to handle it. It will deliver a newsletter once a day (if there are updates).

Both the pothole on McArdle Roadway and the lane switch on Grandview has been duly reported to Matt at the Mayor’s Complaint Center at 311 by me.

The Pothole is fixed! Very temporary patch but at least people won’t be poppin’ tires and bending rims on their way out of Mt. Washington.

Apologies to Mrs. Knouff, my 3rd grade English teacher, but both
the pothole and lane switch HAVE been reported.
As I understand it, the pothole has been repaired. One out of two is a 50% return.

I hit that the other nite and had a flat tire the next day. Havn’t gone down it sense but glad to hear it is fixed.

I would still be wary of that area of McArdle especially after the last few days of salt trucks and ice. I’m sure if that one holds there will be others. Seems there are some drainage issues that is pushing water on to the roadway.??

We are saved! Today’s Post-Gazette is reporting that McArdle will be closed tomorrow for pothole repair: http://www.post-gazette.com/pg/08050/858654-100.stm
As a victim of a McArdle sink hole (I got a flat two weeks ago), I am relieved to see this work be completed. Cheers to my neighbors for speaking up!

There is a pretty bad pothole at the lower end of Bertha, near Virginia. Since they will be in the neighborhood, maybe they can fix that one too.

McArdle is still a pretty rough ride down. I dont think they fixed much.
