What a beautiful view! Please be advised that the tenatively scheduled Planning and Zoning meeting for tonight at 5:30 is cancelled for 2 reasons. First, we never had an opportunity to let the community know as our Viewpoint is under construction. Something will be going out to homes later this month. Also, the weather is just plain nasty. No need to leave home unless you have to.
In other news… After over 40 years of serving Mt. Washington residents, the Village Dairy will be retiring. Frank and Joyce Yoch always served a warm smile with a hot cup of coffee. Thier Octoberfests and homemade cakes and pies will truly be missed. Be sure to give them a warm send off and congratulate them on their many years of being in operation.
For those of you who noticed the notice of alcoholic beverages in the window, we will be welcoming a new business owned by Len Semplice of Redbeards. As many of you are aware Len has proven himself to be an exempliary business owner who has made a number of upgrades to Redbeards and participate in the revitalization of our community. He plans to do the same in the Village Dairy space. His concept is very similar to that of D’s Hot Dogs in Regent Square which has had a tremendous following for years. What makes this business model unique is that it will offer the ability to purchase unique imported and microbrewed beers from all over the world in a six pack. Also, one will be able to create assorted packs with a combination of specialty beers as well. A light menu of classic eats will be available also.
The former Eckerd space is being considered by a fitness center chain that will have state of the art cardio, nautilus and free weight equipment. It is interesting to see the readers poll as it appears this will be a welcome fit as well.
Feel free to contact me with any questions or any ideas of other businesses you would like to see fill up our available space in the business district. 412-481-3220

That’s great news about the new businesses (hopefully) coming into Shiloh. We definitely need a gym up here. And I’ll be really happy to see a place up here that offers microbrews and imports. I hope they also have vegetarian food, as that is one niche that is only partially filled up here.

Great news, Greg. Thanks for sharing! I second the notion, made by Polly for more vegetarian food choices. And a gym on Shiloh? That would be great. I would definitely consider changing gyms. So many good things have been going on in our neighborhood!
