Monitoring would mean that we would assess each comment before it’s published and then either “approve” or “unapprove”. We don’t do that. It takes away from the authenticity of the dialogue that can take place. We have; however, edited comments that we felt personally disparaged someone.

This is your statement and if this is so, then why does it say mail (will not be published)(required) if you want to make a comment. It seems to me that you do, in fact, monitor comments and you do know who it is making them just by their email. Is that not so?

Good luck with your social experiement. If there is bad element it will just a cleaner area with bad element. You need to remove the problem not make it look pretty for a mid day shooting or mugging.

long answer:
We want this to be a place that people in the community can come and express their ideas and thoughts and we respect the privacy of anyone on here. Yes i could get on here and say i’m Circusvue, but realize that we also monitor the site and if there are complaints of someone stealing an online identity that has been established via this site, we will take action. Of course this is case by case.

We do not want to have to make our neighbors have to “sign up” to comment on the site. Then we are no better than a political group that monitors and censors its membership. We believe it would reduce the amount of people commenting, as we believe that sometimes people don’t say what they really are thinking because they are afraid of being bullied or ridiculed. This is a widely agreed upon idea in the interactive realm and we will not be changing this policy.

You can trust that we are always on top of these types of issues. If anyone out there notices that their screename/handle/moniker/appellation/name/alias/nickname/cognomen/sobriquet/tag/label/pseudonym/epithet is in danger, let me know.

MOUNTAIN GIRL – QUESTION??

In regard to your website here at 15211.org, does each person have a unique signature, or should we call it moniker, appellation, name, alias, handle, nickname, cognomen, sobriquet, tag, label, pseudonym or epithet when they post? Can they post under a different screen name each time they post? Can they steal someone else’s screen name?
