McArdle Roadway not worthy according to PennDOT

Thursday, February 26th, 2009

It looks like McArdle Roadway did not make the cut on PennDOT’s ambitious project list for 2009. Check out the bridges and roads that will be repaired here. I’d be interested to hear how these decisions were made. Perhaps McArdle Roadway repairs can be paid for via some other funding vehicle. For those of us that drive [...]

LGBT District 2 & 4 endorsements

Wednesday, February 25th, 2009

The City Paper is reporting that the Steel City Stonewall Democrats have endorsed candidates for the May 19th election. Most notable and relevant to 15211.org, they indicated strong support for District 4 City Council candidate Natalia Rudiak and issued a recommendation for District 2 City Council candidate Georgia Blotzer. Monday, February 16th, 2009

Ms. Smith won’t be able to just walk into the full term for the District 2 City Council seat like I’m sure she would have liked to. Robert Frank has announced his candidacy. We all thought this would happen but it’s confirmed now. It’s interesting that he pulled out because he didn’t get the Dem [...]

Murder Map: Pittsburgh

Sunday, February 15th, 2009

The Post Gazette put together a Google Map of all the murders in Pittsburgh in 2008. The best thing about this map is that you can click on the marker and see details and new articles about that specific murder. I think it’s interesting to be able to see where the murders seem to congregate. [...]

New Amphitheater to open at Station Square!

Wednesday, February 11th, 2009

Looks like something similiar to the Chevy Amp is headed back to Station Square! Finally. The Chevy Amphitheater is sorely missed by those of us who like that sort of thing.
