A 15211 reader told us about an article in the Post-Gazette yesterday by reporter Brian O’Neill. He uses the new Google Map Pedometer to stroll from downtown to Grandview Park and back. And he stops to grab a slice of pizza on Shiloh along the way. This little trek could be marketed to visitors, don’t you think?
We were going to put together a long winded write up about the MWCDC meeting last night, but CDC Board Member JT Smith beat us to it! Actually this is a great synopsis of the meeting, Thanks JT! Edge Project – UPDATE Wanted to give a quick update to all those would could not attend [...]
As you know Burt Hill Architects, in cooperation with the MWCDC, created a serene rain garden in Charles Lewis Memorial Park (next to the fire station on Virginia Avenue). To complete the project, and add little bit of urban sophistication and style, an artist wants to transform the back wall of the enclosed park space into [...]
If you haven’t checked out the new SeeClickFix on our menu [between Message Boards and Events Calendar], you should. According to an [...]
The last thing I want to do is criticize a writer on the angle s/he chose for a story, but I’m a bit confused about Sam Spatter’s decision to lead an article about The Edge development with the Grand Staircase. I wasn’t at the interview with Mr. Desmone though and maybe he was the one [...]
In addition to concerns expressed in this Post-Gazette article, other issues have arisen about relocating the Zone 3 police station. We’ve heard that there are some police concerned about damage to their private vehicles because there is no parking lot near the station.
Luke Desmone, of Desmone and Associates Architects, attended the Responsible Economic Development (REDO) meeting last Wednesday and spoke at length about the site (currently home to the lovely Edge building). He brought some of his sketches and fielded questions about the project that he and a private developer, Mr. Beemsterboer, are committed to seeing through [...]
